Official Arena Comp List

This is going to be a list of almost every comp that each class can play that is at least remotely viable. It's also going to contain the common name given to each comp. I'll try to list them top to bottom based on the strength and popularity of each classes comps. Hopefully this list helps out some of you who might not know what comps they could possibly be running, or for those of you who might now know what each comp is called. I'll also list the max rating of each comp to maybe give a better idea on how strong it is. Also note that the max rating of each comp is not 100% accurate due to certain teams multi-comping. Thanks to Nerdstompers.

MAGE

Mage/Feral/DiscPriest - Max rating=2861 I have recently started playing this comp and I have to say this is by far one of the best comps you can run as a mage. It has VERY strong burst, survivability, and CC. Two basic strats are to either CC the other teams healer infinitely, or to train the healer to the ground.

Mage/Priest/Rogue - RMP - Max rating=2918 Still a very strong comp. Has been strong almost every season to date. Very good control and bursty comp. Very fun to play.

Mage/Spriest/Rdruid - Shatreeplay - Max rating=3010 Probably one of the best wizard cleave comps that a mage can play. This comp brings double dispels, along with insane burst damage and control. Might not be as good next patch because priests are losing dispel.

Mage/Lock/Shammy - MLS - Max rating=2805 Although not as overpowered as it used to be, still very strong. Next patch expect to see this comp be a tier 1 comp.

Mage/Lock/Druid - MLD - Max rating=2932 Not quite as good as it used to be, but still very strong if played correctly. All 3 team members have to coordinate lots of CC to land a kill.

Mage/DK/Priest - Max rating=2702 Not sure how strong this comp is but it's definitely pretty solid.

Mage/Warrior/Paladin - Max rating 2728 Fairly strong comp with good burst potential. One of the more fun comps to run as a mage.

Other comps:
Mage/Rogue/Druid - RMD - Max rating=2608
Mage/Warrior/Druid - Max rating=2747
Mage/Rogue/Shammy - RMS - Max rating=2341
Mage/Warrior/Priest - Max rating=2646
Mage/Spriest/Rshammy - Shatterplay- Max rating=2702

Druid

Moonkin/Lock/Shammy - LSD - Max rating=2906 Probably THE strongest comp you can play as a druid, although you have to play it moonkin so this might not be the comp for everyone. This comp has massive pressure due to the fact that you and your warlock both just DoT up the entire team and do massive damage.

Feral/Mage/Priest - Max rating=2861 It has VERY strong burst, survivability, and CC. Two basic strats are to either CC the other teams healer infinitely, or to train the healer to the ground.

Druid/Mage/Spriest - Shatreeplay - Max rating=3010 Another very strong comp. This comp brings double dispels, along with insane burst damage and control. Next patch it probably won't be as good because priest are losing dispel.

Druid/Spriest/DK - Unholyplay - Max rating=3050 Although this comp isn't as strong as it was early season, it is still a pretty solid comp capable of bursting or outlasting. This comp has a ton of CC and constant pressure. Requires decent coordination.

Druid/DK/Lock - Shadowcleave - Max rating=2820 This comp was also much stronger at the start of the season than it is now. Still a decent comp, but melee cleaves can give it a bit of trouble.

Druid/Mage/Lock - MLD- Max rating=2932 Pretty solid comp as long as you and you're team have good coordination. This comp should get much stronger next patch.

Druid/Spriest/Rogue - Max rating=3050 In the right hands this comp can be very strong but it's not one of those comps that anyone can play and succeed at.

Other comps:
Druid/Mage/Warrior - Max rating=2747
Druid/Mage/Rogue - RMD - Max rating=2608
Druid/Mage/DK - Max rating=2694
Druid/Lock/Warrior - WLD - Max rating=2751
Feral/Warrior/Healer - Kittycleave - Max rating=2767

Death Knight

DK/Spriest/Druid - Unholyplay - Max rating=3050 Although this comp isn't as strong as it was early season, it is still a pretty solid comp capable of bursting or outlasting. This comp has a ton of CC and constant pressure. Requires decent coordination. Fun to play as a DK because you get tons of dispels

DK/Warrior/Pally - TSG - Max rating=2724 Fairly strong comp for a DK to run. You basically have a limited time to zerg someone down with your cooldowns.

DK/Warlock/Healer - Shadowcleave - Max rating=2780 This comp was much stronger early season but since then has got a bit weaker due to the fact that warrior teams can give you trouble. This comp might be much stronger next patch due to warlock buffs and warrior nerfs.

DK/Ret/Healer - Max rating=3053 Pretty strong comp with insane burst, durability, and CC. Can potentially global someone. Pretty good comp at zerging down healers.

DK/Hunter/Pally - PHD - Max rating=2756 A very pressure-based comp. Once you start going defensive you have probably lost.

Other comps:
DK/Hunter/Druid - TreeHD - Max rating=2716
DK/Warrior/Druid - TreeSG - Max rating=2652
DK/Mage/Priest - Max rating=2718
DK/EnhanceSham/Druid - Max rating=2743

Warlock

Warlock/Warrior/Shammy - WLS - Max rating=2959 Very strong comp. Does insane damage and seems like it has a very fun playstyle. You can swap around a lot to create more pressure. Warriors and locks have good synergy.

Warlock/Moonkin/Shammy - LSD - Max rating=2906 Probably one of the strongest comp you can play as a lock. This comp has massive pressure due to the fact that warlocks and moonkins can create a ton of aoe damage by DoT'ing up the entire enemy team.

Warlock/Rogue/Shammy - RLS - Max rating=2910 Has been a very strong and solid comp since the start of the season. All 3 classes on this team have great synergy. You can play this comp many different ways and all are very effective.

Warlock/Spriest/Shammy - Shadowplay - Max rating=3015 Pretty strong comp and I don't think it's really too hard to play. The warlock and priest can create massive amounts of pressure with ease and force the other team to have to play defensive. Also has double dispels so obviously that's a really good bonus!

Warlock/Mage/Shammy - MLS - Max rating=2805 Although not as overpowered as it used to be, still very strong. Next patch expect to see this comp be a tier 1 comp. Very control/bursty based comp.

Warlock/Mage/Druid - MLD- Max rating=2932 Pretty solid comp as long as you and you're team have good coordination. This comp should get much stronger next patch.

Warlock/DK/Healer - Shadowcleave - Max rating=2820 This comp was also much stronger at the start of the season than it is now. Still a decent comp, but melee cleaves can give it a bit of trouble.

Other comps:
Warlocks can play with almost anything
Warlock/Feral/Shammy - Max rating=2726
Warlock/Rogue/Druid - RLD - Max rating=2703
Warlock/Warrior/Pally or Druid - Max rating=2875

Warrior

Warrior/Lock/Shammy - WLS - Max rating=2959 Very strong comp. Does insane damage and seems like it has a very fun playstyle. You can swap around a lot to create more pressure. Warriors and locks have good synergy.

Warrior/Hunter/Healer - KFC (Kung Fu Cleave) - Max rating=2922 This comp is best using a Shaman healer, but also can work with a Pally or Priest. This is probably one of the best comps you can run as a warrior right now. Has insane damage and great control. Throw a few scatter traps onto the enemy healer and faceroll to victory!

Warrior/Ret/Priest or Shaman - Max rating=3017 Pretty strong cleave team. This comp brings a ton of damage to the table and you are also paired with a Ret pally so you can get freedoms to stick to your targets better.

Warrior/DK/Pally - TSG - Max rating=2724 Not really amazingly strong, but pretty solid. This comp can create a ton of pressure and if you line up some good CC with fear, strangulate, gnaw, HoJ, etc, it's very hard for the other team to catch up.

Warrior/Mage/Pally - Max rating=2832 Fairly strong comp with good burst potential. One of the more fun comps to run due to getting freedoms and having the potential to kill someone in a deep freeze.

Other comps:

Warrior/Lock/Druid - WLD - Max rating=2875
Warrior/Dpreist/Pally - Max rating=2785
Warrior/Rogue/Priest - Max rating=2726
Warrior/Spriest/Druid or Shaman - Max rating=2857

AutoHotkey

Ever felt that you are running out of keybindings? If answer was yes try this program: AutoHotkey. It's simple program that allows you to change places of buttons on your keyboard and make macros like "Windows button + E". It's useful for desktop use and wow playing. I personally use it to move alt to my mouses side button. Opens me a lot new keybindings and solved all binding problems I ever had.

You can download the program from here: http://www.autohotkey.com/download/

I skip the installation guide cause its basically hitting the next button. When it asks you to make example script hit Yes. It opens notepad which should look like this:

Delete everything and write in scripts you want to use and hit save:
This one changes your mouse's side button to alt and your alt to 0

Now you should have application running in system tray, right click and Reload this script.
You'r new scripts are now ready for use! Remember, its not permament. You can easily switch back to original buttons just by closing AutoHotkey.

Thanks for reading!

Paladin PvP guide

This guide is directed to new paladin players and is probably full of grammar errors and typos. So please don't mind if you find one. My English is not perfect.

1. Spec and Glyphs
- Specs
- Glyphs
2. Gearing
- Stats
- Gems
- Enchants
3. Macros
4. Keybinds
5. General
6. Addons

1. Spec and Glyphs

Specs

Spec for 2v2:
http://wowtal.com/#k=ter7HpBX.aei.paladin.

Assist your partner with constant exocrism spam and 40second cooldown stun.

Spec for 3v3:
http://wowtal.com/#k=terZElZI.aei.paladin.

Same as 2v2 but a bit more healing power instead of exocrism damage as you don't usually have time to cast exocrism.

Glyphs

Prime Glyphs:
Glyph of Seal of Insight
Glyph of Word of Glory
Glyph of Holy Shock

Major Glyphs:
Glyph of Turn Evil
Glyph of Cleansing
Glyph of Divine Plea

Minor Glyphs:
Glyph of Insight
Glyph of Blessing of Kings / Glyph of Blessing of Might
Glyph of Justice

This is the only logical glyph choice. Glyph of Divine Favor is decent glyph but in the end it gets dispelled really fast versus good players so its not worth it in my option.

2. Gearing

Stats
Stats: Int>Spirit>Resi>Crit>Haste>Stamina>Mastery

Its setup depended tho, if you feel like your not going oom ever you may want to trade some spirit for crit. Don't go for haste as you can't get it enough to make it worth it on this season. Mastery is the worst stat at the moment, don't ever go for mastery.

Full pvp gear is also recommended. You get focused often since paladins are really vulnerable to switches. Full geared paladin should have at least 3500 resilience.

Gems
Ember Shadowspirit Diamond: 54 int +2% Maxium Mana for meta socket
Brilliant Inferno Ruby : 40 int for red sockets
Purified Demonseye : 20 int / 20 spirit for blue sockets
Potent Ember Topaz : 20 int / 20 crit for yellow sockets
Every socket bonus in pvp set is worth taking

Enchants
Head: 60int / 35resi
Shoulders: 50int / 25resi
Back: 50int
Chest: 40resi
Bracers: 50spirit
Gloves: 50haste
Legs: 95int / 55spirit OR 95int / 80sta
Feet: 30sta + minor speed
Shield: 40int
Weapon: Hearthsong (spirit proc)

3. Macros

#showtooltip Holy Shock
/cast Holy Shock
/cast [noharm,help] Righteous Defense
/stopmacro [harm] [noexists]
/cast Righteous Defense

Uses righteous defense at the same time with Holy Shock. Constantly taunting enemy pets to you. Including mirror images which breaks polymorphs really often.

#showtooltip Turn Evil
/targetexact Ebon Gargoyle
/cast Turn Evil
/targetlasttarget

Fears gargoyle without targeting, may bug if there is 2 gargoyles up at the same time.

#showtooltip Turn Evil
/use [@arenapet1]Turn Evil
/use [@arenapet2]Turn Evil
/use [@arenapet3]Turn Evil
/use [@arenapet4]Turn Evil
/use [@arenapet5]Turn Evil
/use [@mouseover,harm][]Turn Evil

Fears enemy player's pet without targeting, may bug if there is more than 1pet in enemy team.

#showtooltip Blessing of Kings
/cast [target=player] Blessing of Kings

For easier rebuffing in middle of game.

#showtooltip Blessing of Might
/cast [target=player] Blessing of Might

Same as last one, but with might.

#showtooltip Rebuke
/cast [target=focus, exists] Rebuke

Uses Rebuke on focus target.

#showtooltip Hammer of Justice
/cast [target=focus, exists] hammer of justice; hammer of justice

Uses Hammer of Justice on focus target.

#showtooltip Cleanse
/cast [target=XXXX,exists] cleanse

Replace XXXX with party1, party2 or player. Uses cleanse on selected player without targeting.

#showtooltip Hand of Freedom
/cast [target=XXXX,exists] Hand of Freedom

Replace XXXX with party1, party2 or player. Uses Hand of Freedom on selected player without targeting.

#showtooltip
/cancelaura Avenging Wrath
/cast Avenging Wrath

Uses Avenging Wrath on first click, cancels if clicked again. Useful against mage to prevent spell stealing.

#showtooltip
/cancelaura Divine Plea
/cast Divine Plea

Same as last one but with Divine Plea.

#showtooltip
/cancelaura Divine Favor
/cast Divine Favor

Same as last one but with Divine Favor.

4. Keybinds

My keybinding is designed for 3v3 only since its the bracket I enjoy playing most. You'll do fine with it in 2s also but might have problem with dispelling in 5s.

And as other important note, I have moved my alt to my mouses side button when I ran out of keybindings. and moved my 0 to alt's place also. If you have ever felt that you are running out of keybindigs I recommend you to do the same, takes a bit training but it is definetely worth it. How to do this? Guide to Auto Hotkey: http://wasted-wow-gaming.blogspot.com/2011/03/autohotkey.html

Set Focus = shift + B

Target party1 = wheel up
Target party2 = wheel down
Target self = middle mouse

Dispell party1 = shift + wheel up
Dispell party2 = shift + wheel down
Dispell self = shift + middle mouse

Freedom party1 = ctrl + wheel up
Freedom party2 = ctrl + wheel down
Freedom self = ctrl + middle mouse

HoP party1 = alt + wheel up
HoP party2 = alt + wheel down
HoP self = alt + middle mouse

I recommend you to have target or mouseover dispell binded also. As I'm not big fan of mouseover I'm using target binds.

Screen shot to rest of my bindings you can find here:

5. General

Positioning
Pillar and out of range is your best friend. Perfect possible positioning is that your team mates are in LoS but enemy player is out of Los. When your in out of LoS you have more time to heal and follow the game without having to worry about incoming cc's or interrupts. It also makes it harder to switch on you if your Los:ing enemys.

What to do when focused?
Use Divine Protection always when someone focuses you even a little. Try to run behind pillar with Holy radiance and freedom. Use HoJ if their healer is not in range / not in LoS. Best way to use heals when under pressure: 3HP Word of Glory > procced Divine light > Holy Shock > Flash of Light. Don't forget to fake cast, don't expect them to stop using interrupts when they are focusing you. Use healing cooldowns if nesseccary.

Tips
Refresh Beacon of Light on the nuketarget every time its dispelled.

Save Hand of Freedom for slows you can't dispell.

Tell your arena partners (especially if they are melee) to have remove Hand of protection and Remove Hand of Freedom binded. Helps if you just want to break stun or blind with HoP and so mages cant spellsteal your Hand of Freedom. My warrior removes Hand of Freedom instantly after I use it just so mage dont get out of slows.

You can use Hand of Freedom when cycloned.

Hand of Sacrifice breaks cc's like polymorph. But is good defensive cooldown also cause of 30% damage reduction.

A lot of DK damage comes from pet, fear it as much as you can.

Use Judgement at start of the match for extra haste.

Don't use trinket on CC your team mates can dispell.

Communicate, a lot. Tell when your about to use cooldowns and when your about to get crowd controlled. Communication is the way to success.

Judge shadowpriests mirror image thingys to proc crusader (300% more healing to next holy light).

Follow the game, believe me its the hardest thing to do atleast for new players.

Don't forget to use your cooldowns!

6. Addons

SnowFallKeyPress
Uses the skill when button is pressed, instead of when it is released. It makes things a bit faster and helps alot when using skills like rebuke. I definetely recommend everyone to use this addon.

Gladius
Easy way to target and track enemy team. Gladius tracks things like: Trinket cooldown, Diminishing returns, CC timers, Defensive cooldown durations and more. Its lot superior to default ui arena frames. You can also bind skills to gladius clicks for example: When you click someone with mouse 2 on gladius you will HoJ that target(Using this myself).

Afflicted3
Tracks Enemy cooldowns.

InterruptBar
Tracks interrupt and silence cooldowns, its simple and really useful.

Move anything
As the addon name says, you can move any frame in game with this addon. Moved my holy power bar to middle of screen. Some people might like to move unit frames to middle and so on. Good addon, try it.

Spell Alerter
It will flash in middle of screen telling who is casting and what he is casting. Helps with Los'ing cc, fake casting and dispelling team mates.

Make Money Selling Flaming Boars

A flaming boar is one of the rarest hunter pets in the game. It's not particularly hard to get, but it usually requires a second person and can be a bit tricky. However, once you become a pro at it you could easily "sell" the boar to hunters and make 300G+ in a matter of minutes. The best part is that it only takes 5 minutes to setup and you can sell it over and over again!

Preparation: All that you have to do is create a new Tauren character and complete the first 5-6 quests until you get to a quest named Feed of Evil. After that, have every buyer you find create
a macro that contains "/script PetAbandon()". That's it!

Procedure: Simply offer to sell a rare flaming boar in your city's trade channel and several hunters will PM you for more information. I personally charge 300G to help hunters tame the boar and I've had quite a few people agree.

The quest has you run to a boar pen and set a few boars on fire. All you have to do is have a hunter stand right on top of one of the food troughs and begin to tame a boar. After 5 seconds or so, use the torch which will set the boar on fire and he'll run around for a while. After you activate the torch, have the hunter spam the macro which will cause the boar to despawn the second he finishes taming the boar. If done correctly, it will look as if the flaming boar simply disappeared. After that, simply have the hunter log out and when he logs back in he should be able to call the flaming boar!

This can take a bit of practice and doesn't always work on the first try. I helped a few guildies get it today and 2 of them were able to get it within a minute but it took some people 2-10 minutes to tame it. If when they log on they don't have a boar, repeat the procedure a few more times. It helps if they have low latency and make sure they are spamming that macro.

This may not be the fastest way to make cash but it certainly is pretty easy!

Tips: There are times when the pet runs out of range when lit on fire. You can prevent this bu putting a freezing trap right on top of the trough.*If done correctly, you will not see the level up effect, the pet will simply disappear*The boar will die 6 seconds after activating the torch. Make sure you time it so tame pet is able to finish (10 second cast)

The Ultimate 1-525 Archeology Guide!

Archeology, the new skill of Cataclysm. Verry time-consuming. In this guide im going to sum up everything about this proffesion!
Archeology allows you to dig artifacts out of the ground, when used, they will mostly result in common items, and occasionaly in Epics/Rares!
There Will be 4 digsites per continent!

1-100
When leveling your skill from 1-100 you will want to safe all the artifacts you dig. Caus when you are 100 you will not gain any more skills for digging!
From level 1-100 you can dig: Night Elf, Troll, Dwarf, and Fossil artifacts.
Found in: Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor.

100-300

You are in for a long grind now, use the artifacts saved from leveling 1-100.
There is not much to say about this long grind, i would suggest Eastern Kingdoms to dig, because of it being smaller then Kalimdor, and the spawn locations seem to be closer to eachother!

300-375

You can now Survey in Outlands. Digging up: Draenei and Orc artifacts.

375-450

You can now Surver in Northrend! Digging up: Nerubian and Vrykul Artifacts!

450-525

Here is where it gets interesting, you can now dig up Tol'Vir artifacts in Uldum! The dig sites in Uldum share the continent of Kalimdor. So you'll need to dig all arround Kalimdor in order to dig in Uldum!

How does Archeology work?

Upon learning Archeology you gain 2 skills: Survey, and Archeology (Tab).
You use Survey on locations shown on the map (With a shovel, and red area in the zone)
When using Survey, you'll place a spy-glass with a light on it.
Red: Indicates the Artifact is far away.
Yellow: You are getting closer, but its still a few yards.
Green: You are close , it is within 20 yards.
The direction of the spyglass tells you where the artifact is.
To make artifacts, go to your archeology tab, and press the race you have artifacts from (For example Dwarf). You can see you need (Lets say 30) artifacts to complete solve this item. Just gather the 30 artifacts, and solve it.
When solved, a new item should pop up. This can be Rare/Epic or Common item.

Keystones

There are multiple keystones available, found while digging. They can complete some artifacts by up to 12 fragments, but is also used for daily quests. Artifacts have from 0 to 3 slots for these keystones. All rare/epic artifacts have 3 keystone slots, except Fossilized Hatchling and Fossilized Raptor, caus there are no fossil keystones!

To finish it off, here are some percentages for artifacts:

Dwarf:
86% of the projects are common items (25 total), 10% are Rare (3 total), and one Epic Weapon 2H Staff (3%) Project.

Fossil:
82% are common items (9 total), 18% are Rare (One pet, One Mount).

Night Elf:
73% are common items (19 total), 23% are Rare (6 total), and one Epic Cloth Chest (4%) Project.

Troll:
93% are common items (14 total), with one Epic 2H Sword (7%) Project.

Draenei (Outland Only):
80% are common items (8 total), 20% are Rare (2 total).

Orc (Outland Only):
90% are common items (9 total), and one Epic Mail Head (10%) Project.

Vrykul (Northrend Only):
83% are common items (5 total), and one Epic 1H Axe (17%) Project.

Nerubian (Northrend Only):
78% are common items (7 total), with two Epic Usable Item (12%) Projects.

Tol'Vir (Cataclysm Only):
54% are common items (7 total), with 6 Epic Projects (46%), including one pet, one mount, one 1H Sword, one ring, one 2H Staff, and one usable item.

Have fun, and feel free to ask any questions!
